Floor Plan
Each floor plan has been designed by our engineering team to ensure building strength. This floor plan shows an optimized location for your overhead door, walk door, and windows. Your walk doors and windows can be moved around to better serve the needs of your building. However, your overhead door locations if placed on the end wall or side wall need to be constructed on the wall as designed. This is due to header sizes and strength designed to carry the load of the opening, which can vary on need depending on the door location.
Trusses
FBi trusses are job-specific and engineered for your building. Our professional in-house engineering staff uses the latest computer-aided design and simulation systems to ensure strength and structural integrity. Pre-engineered metal plated wood trusses are designed per ASCE 7 standards. We manufacture our trusses in-house under stringent quality control standards. Our truss plant is regularly certified by a third-party Truss Plate Institute inspection service.
You’ll want to avoid material packages where the trusses are not certified by a third party. You could potentially encounter inadequate quality or improper handling.
Columns
Each column is a 3 – Ply 2 x 6 laminated column manufactured at FBi’s truss plant. Each 2 x 6 is individually treated for decay or insect damage. FBi provides a lifetime warranty on their manufactured columns from unusual decay or insect damage
You will want to avoid solid 6 x 6 posts that you might find in other material packages. These columns are unable to be treated all the way through, making them suspect to rotting from the inside out.
Steel
Our engineers specify 29-gauge, heat-treated, full-hard, high-tensile steel with a minimum yield strength of 80,000 PSI. This higher-strength steel provides superior resistance to impact damage from hail, debris, and everyday wear. The durability of full-hard steel helps maintain the integrity and appearance of your building over time.
Each panel features a Galvalume® substrate coating—an advanced blend of aluminum, zinc, and silicon—engineered to resist corrosion and rust 2–4 times longer than traditional galvanized steel commonly used in the industry.
This package also includes a 36" steel wainscot, providing added protection along the lower portion of the building where exposure to moisture, landscaping equipment, and road debris is most common. In addition to improving durability, the wainscot creates a clean visual break that enhances the overall aesthetic of your structure.

Screws
Each FBi screw has a stainless-steel umbrella head protecting it from rusting and minimizing leaks in the roof and walls. These screws are guaranteed to never rust and have a lifetime warranty on them from FBi.
You want to avoid material packages that provide nails or galvanized fasteners for your building package.

Overhangs & Gutters
This building package includes 12" overhangs on both the endwalls and sidewalls. Overhangs play an important role in protecting the structure by directing water away from the walls and foundation. They also help reduce splash-back during heavy rain, limit long-term moisture exposure, and provide additional shading at window and door openings. In warmer months, overhangs can contribute to improved energy efficiency by reducing direct sunlight and heat gain.
To further manage water runoff, the building includes 6" gutters and downspouts. A properly sized gutter system helps collect and channel roof water away from the foundation, minimizing the risk of erosion, settling, and water infiltration. Controlled drainage not only protects the building’s structural components but also helps preserve surrounding landscaping and site grading.
Together, overhangs and gutters provide a practical layer of long-term protection while enhancing the finished appearance of the building.
Overhead Door
Your material package does include an 18' x 8' overhead door with opener.
Because overhead doors are available in a wide range of styles, insulation options, colors, and features, we prefer to give you the flexibility to select the door that best fits your needs and budget. This allows you to customize both the appearance and performance of your building.
We recommend contacting a reputable overhead door provider in your area (such as Fairmount, DC Doors, or Midwest Garage Door Company) to discuss options and pricing. Once your building is complete, they will coordinate installation of your selected overhead door.
Walk Door
Our steel walk doors are available in four distinct styles and are engineered to withstand the demands of harsh weather conditions. Steel doors with an integrated thermal barrier help reduce winter heat loss and summer heat gain, while minimizing the risk of interior condensation.
For enhanced durability, doors constructed with pultruded fiberglass provide superior resistance to corrosion and are electrically non-conductive—making them an excellent choice for extreme or fluctuating Midwest climates.
A standard 3' x 6'-8" steel walk door with a knob lockset is included with your building package.
Window
We use Simonton® ProFinish® Contractor Series windows, offering a wide range of size and style options to suit your building design. Each window features an integral nailing fin and J-channel for efficient installation and a clean exterior finish.
An overlapping, interlocking meeting rail helps protect against air and water infiltration, while the ¾" insulating glass unit with the Intercept® spacer system enhances energy performance and helps reduce long-term heating and cooling costs. Four glass options are available, allowing you to select the best fit for your climate and efficiency goals.
A standard 4' x 3' horizontal sliding window with screen is included with your package.
Concrete Slab
This package includes a minimum 4" concrete slab designed to provide a stable, durable foundation. Slab thickness, reinforcement, and finish may vary based on soil conditions, load requirements, and local building codes.
