Opportunity to join cutting edge design-build general contracting organization and take lead in developing and growing Summit Livestock Facilities drafting and BIM Modeling capabilities. Looking for a creative and self-motivated individual with great work ethic and high spatial reasoning to build BIM models using Revit, and produce multi-disciplinary construction drawings varying in levels of detail and complexity.
Projects to Include:
Nationwide large-scale turn-key livestock complexes, agricultural food processing and handling facilities, commercial agricultural projects, single-building farm shops and livestock buildings. Project scopes may include Civil, Architectural, Structural, MEP, or equipment installations.
Core Responsibilities and Duties:
Use Revit and other drafting tools to prepare models and construction drawings for projects of varying size and complexity, and across disciplines.
Develop concepts and sketches into accurate models and drawings, through direct communications with Business Developers, Project Developers, and Engineers.
Lead the effort of putting together a set of construction documents and maintaining a drawing log and revision record using Viewpoint for Projects and other tools.
Follow established processes and protocols for drawing naming, format, & content.
Follow established protocols for drawing review, redlining, and revised issuances.
Peer review the work of other Design Technologists with a meticulous attention to detail.
Manage multiple priorities & tasks simultaneously, spanning across projects and market segments. Organization and an ability to prioritize work to deadlines is crucial.
Work with Sub-Consultants and Sub-Contractors to coordinate the work of multiple trades / disciplines in the same built environment. Leverage Clash detection tools to proactively identify issues prior to construction phase.
Ability to export BIM models and drawings to DWF and other formats for collaboration internally and externally.
Have a working knowledge of construction methods and processes. Experience in the construction industry is desirable.
Have or develop an understanding of agricultural systems and objectives. Exposure to agriculture or experience in agriculture is a plus.
Build skillset through continuing education and technical courses to add value to the organization.
Participate in design progress meetings and client presentations as required.
Take part in occasional travel to jobsites prior to, during, and after construction. (less than 5%)
Maintain document quality and uniformity standards through continual refinement and development.
Track time and work to minimize project cost by using efficiency measures and computer tools to add value.
Experienced user of Autodesk Revit or similar BIM design software.
Proficient user of AutoCAD.
Knowledge of interface with multiple BIM file formats.
Knowledge of CFD (computerized fluid dynamics) is a plus.
Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of Revit Structural analysis toolkit and material stress analysis is a plus.
Knowledge of Viewpoint for projects is a plus.
Familiarity with AIA master format and work breakdown structure is a plus.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Four-year degree in an accredited BIM, Computer Graphics Technology, or Engineering Technology curriculum.
Three – Five years of experience in drafting & building information modeling in a construction or manufacturing related environment.
Office Environment, Located in Remington, Indiana
Salaried position, 40-45 hours per week typical.
