The Beef Project Sales Consultant will develop prospects in specified territory (IA, MN & WI) through personal contacts, leads generated from corporate office, referrals and other marketing efforts such as tradeshows, feed company meetings, open houses etc. To respond to interested livestock producers by determining customer needs and matching those needs with Fbi/Summit/Heartland capabilities. Set expectations for intercompany profitability by following corporate sales process, providing clean contracts to operations and following up for customer satisfaction.
Develop and recommend, with beef sales manager and beef divisional manager assistance, specific sales forecasts and marketing plan.
Develop lead sources in territory through past customers, influential community leaders, open houses, beef industry connections etc.
Assist marketing in media ad placement and strategy.
Qualify all opportunities that are passed on from inside sales. Contact all opportunities within 48 hours of initial call.
Utilize corporate customer relationship management programs to log calls and project notes.
Discover customer needs and match those needs with Fbi/Summit/Heartland capabilities. Participate in design process with design department. Provide all building specifications and drawings to customer per presented solution as needed.
Collaboration with sales manager and design/estimating a must.
Responsible to drive project from contract to construction ready.
Field customer objections, close sale, or follow up with next appropriate step in sales process. Complete building purchase agreements in full. Collect down payment.
Educate and advise producer in acquiring all necessary permits local, state, and federal.
Educate and advise producers of properly sited facilities as well as expectations of site during construction, in order to maximize project and producers profitability.
Upon completion of project, monitor final payment and confirm complete satisfaction of customer. Inform Operations Department of any service requirements.
Maintain regular contact with customers and other departments as needed.
Ideal candidate will have:
Strong work ethic
Associates or Bachelor degree in Construction, Animal Sciences, Ag Systems Management, or Ag Engineering
Experience working and being around livestock
Minimum 5 years in construction or livestock industry
Must be willing and able to travel with overnight stays
Must be proficient in Microsoft suite of computer software
Must live in state territory outlined above
Must have clean & safe driving record
Agriculture or Livestock Background
